On a slightly related side note, I've read that tuvinian jew's harp players can convey messages in their playing, that can be decoded by listeners; however, this is rather emulating human speech by an instrument (which already uses the mouth for shaping its sound...) On the other hand, throat singing is said to have been "invented" to emulate the sounds of nature, so why not the opposite too?
