Dillard says the AAVE form of "desk" is /dEs/, pl. /dEs@z/.
/&ks/ is kind of anomalous for AAVE anyway,
in that it goes against the usual tendency
to simplify final consonant clusters.
I myself say /&st/ for "asked", BTW.
