I can't think of any example of that particular one at the movement, but Swedish
have some minimal pairs like _tår_ [to:r`] "tear" vs _torr_ [tOr`:] "dry", _sur_
[s}:r`] "sour" vs _surr_ [s8r`:] "buzz". Phonemically I'd want to write this
/to:r/, /tor/, /s}:r/, /s}r/, but people are going to disagree about what is
phonemic as regards to long vowel plus short consonant vs vice versa.
