Yes, both are (were) Australian soaps. "Neighbors" featured the Sturm
und Drang at an Australian cul-de-sac and starred Kylie Minogue (na,
na, na...), Jason where-is-he-now Alexander (in the Perth dinner
theatre production of "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat"?), and
Guy Pierce (I think that's his name) of "Priscilla, Queen of the
Desert", "LA Confidential", and "The Time Machine" fame. "Home and
Away" was utterly painful to watch and focussed on the travails of a
couple who ran a campground and had a covey of foster kids; to be
viewed only with ipecac nearby (lovable oafs, evil twins, torturous
accents, all on the Australian coast; I mean, gag me with a rake).
And don't even get me started on "The Flying Doctors"....:)
