Uatakassí has noun incorporation. There are certain constructions that *require* incorporation, while others are merely optional. However, incorporation is limited to one-word nouns. For instance, for "I understand Uatakassí": Takassizibúuki Takassi- zibú -u-ki Uatakassí-understand-I-NP (Ua- is a gender prefix, gramatical morphemes are stripped from nouns prior to incorporation) However, if that which is to be incorporated is more than one word, then the word _fúnu_ (that, previously mentioned) is used in its place, and the noun is put int eh instrumental, e.g., "I understand this language": Funuzibúuki uasaggáli ualíli Funu-zibú -u-ki ua-saggá -li ua-lí -li That-understand-I-NP G6-language-inst G6-this-inst I.e., "I understand that, this language" Perhaps a similar sollution could be used for multiply embedded clauses, something put in the place of the clause to say "there should be a clause here", and then the actual clause would be after the verb. -- Cenedl heb iaith, cenedl heb galon A nation without a language is a nation without a heart - Welsh proverb ICQ: 18656696 AIM Screen-Name: NikTaylor42
