I've been alive a modest 24 years. I've been conlanging for at least 12
years. I started out by trying to compile a glossary of Quenya, Sindarin,
etc, but I got impatient when I could find words I needed, so changed
things as I saw fit. (I'm ashamed to say that at one point, I defined
_nazg_ as 'birthday' - it was homophonous with 'ring'.) My oldest conlang,
Telek, is going on 7 years, though it has been substantially revised a
number of times, and its present incarnation is about 2 years old. The
words lajhosa'life' and jedolen 'fire' have been with me since the
beginning. (Originally, jedolen was ied 'evil' + oren 'power'.) Not
coincidentally, they are also the names of the two major deities in the
conculture supporting the conlang, and have been all along.
I have a major reworking of the Telek verbal system coming along. Many new
and interesting (to me) changes.
