Thanks. :) That beats the AYE-ther thing I was doing before, so I'll use it when I don't feel like IPA.

I checked a bunch of dictionaries, and they all agree with you. None even allow the stop as an alternate pronunciation, but "calisthenics" in particular sounds weird to me with the fricative. Now, of course, I have to go annoy some friends to see what they say. ;) -- Paul
