Well, that would be a possibility ... but I think I'll leave it as is. If we
had dissimulation here, it ought to turn up in alot of other places too,
possibly with very unwanted consequences, and besides I think the connection
with the simplex would help keeping the /p\/'s in place (the shift /p/>/p\/ is
perfectively regular and productive after a prefix ending in a vowel).
I can't say I actively _dislike_ [me'p\ap\]; it just happens to be a word that
has no particular attraction to me.
