And besides, it's not really compatible with the famous Dutch courtesy (cough, cough, argle... The first thing Irina and I missed when we arrived on Schiphol from our trip to England was the ubiqitous 'thank you' and 'please'... I mean, if even the railway company is polite!) It was a bit difficult, though, when an wasp decided to share my cider in London, and stung my tongue. I went to Guy's hospital, and the head nurse, one James Smith (very friendly and capable person), asked my how to pronounce my name, while I lay down with a swollen tongue and a head full of dizzy-making stuff! I hardly could refer him to my webpage...
