I'm curious -- why England? English has been spoken in parts of Scotland for the better part of a thousand years. Not to mention the fact that the vast majority of English speakers live in Britain's former colonies, not the UK (which is not to say that's a bad thing -- it's a testament to British governmental stability and practices). I'm just nitpicking though.
