No, you're correct. He's a nutcase, relatively well-known at that
(on the net, at any rate). Anybody who thinks anything as fundamental
to a society as language can be just invented by Franciscan monks way
back in the 12th century (or whatever, it's been a long time since I've been
there) has to have broken more than a few methodological rules for doing
business.
