Ah, I had added a rule to prevent metathesis before w, j, because
it produced rubbish when the vowel after the w or j is deleted.
E.g.
corvus, curvu:s > koru (not *krohu)
imperium > mperi (not *mprehi)
Some may like *krohu and *mprehi, but I don't, because of the hiatus
('h' is silent and merely marks that the two adjacent vowels are in
different syllables instead of a diphthong).
So quite obviously, I need to find a different order for the rules
or take some other measures to allow
cervisia > krevis
Here, the intermediate /wisja/ > **/wisj/ > */wis/ > /vis/, so the /w/
does not become vocalic, causing a hiatus, so it should indeed cause
metathesis.
