The Senjecan lexicon has several words for fermented drinks. As Senjecan words are based mainly on verbs, I will also give the verb. alwa, to brew, > alwos, beer. heela, to make cider, > heelos, cider or any fermented drink made from the fruit of trees. ayra, to make kumiss, > ayros, kumiss. mhoina, to make wine, > mhoinos, wine or any fermented drink made from the fruit of vines or bushes. meedha, to make mead, > meedhos, mead. kwatha, to ferment, > kwathos, any fermented food or drink. kwathruqyos (ferment + rye), kvass. Two plants might be included in the category of mind-altering drugs. maakenis, poppy (Papaver rhoeas). This is not the Papaver somniferum from which opium is made. Maakenis is used as a food and to produce a dye and oil. komworis, hemp (Cannabis sativa). I suppose some use it to alter their minds, but it is used mainly for the fiber. The seeds are used as a condiment. Charlie
