I have been re-examining my ideas on consonant clusters. Esp'ly since I
am beginning to map out the phonology of my conlang Viivo.
Ever think that a wonderful constrast can be made in a language - NatLang
or otherwise - with both euphony (lotsa C-V and C-V-(V)-C patterns) and -
shall we say - "dissonances" (juicy C-C clusters, i.e. /tz/ /tX/ /ks/
/s'c/).
Be intriguing to make a language almost aspiring to the aesthetics of
very texturally-detailed ambient music in this way. The dissonances of the
clusters adds spice to an otherwise overly "harmonious" conlinguistic
aesthetic(s).
What's life without a lil spicyness?
