I think that is more a consequence of this picture being about the only
one of John in existence, rather than a deliberate ploy to make you
think xod (the chap on the left) is John. xod, btw, is black *and*
white, by his own description -- a condition I myself aspire to, though
so far without success. (Though I was recently thrilled when Gale,
John's spouse, discerned in my visage a likeness to Eldridge Cleaver,
about which many decades of boasting lie ahead for me.)
