Welcome! I am 17 and have been homeschooled as well (I highly recommend it, although not, perhaps, at the cost of a very painful injury). Re books--others have mentioned this but I would just like to add my recommendation for David Crystal's _Cambridge Encyclopedia of Language_, which covers nothing in depth but touches on just about everything. BTW, speaking of essays, does anyone know if the Lexical Semantics texts are still available? I seem to recall that last time I went looking for them I was unable to locate them. ___ )_|_) Eli Naeher - enaeher@emma.troy.ny.us )__|__) )___|___) "A whaleship was my Yale College and my Harvard." \-,__|_,---/ --Herman Melville \________/
