Jake, your work on the Mocteno and Lenmoct looks interesting. Also the piece of liturgy you wrote! As for my own endeavors: Conlang: Hermetic (called in Hermetic itself, "mna Vanantha") Concultural religion: Hermetic Dualism (mna Dviliso Vananthaa) Sacred text: "The Celestial Labors" ("Mna Sipri Cilama") You can find a few *very* brief remarks about Hermetic, and Hermetic Dualism, at: http://hosting.acegroup.cc/~pburgess/vanant.html And the complete text of "Mna Sipri Cilama," in Roman alphabet transcription, at: http://hosting.acegroup.cc/~pburgess/msc.html I wrote "Mna Sipri Cilama" my senior year in high school-- 1973-74-- so we're talking about something that goes back a ways. I originally wrote it in Hermetic, then translated it into English as an afterthought, and I've never been happy with the English translation. Producing a new and more accurate English translation is a prerequisite for putting an English version up on my site. (Eventually, I hope, but no promises!) In my freshman & sophomore years of college, I put together liturgical bits and pieces-- but never anywhere near complete. I have a good idea of the two main architectural styles of a Hermetic Dualist temple; the structure of the priesthood; the three-layered Hermetic calendar, with its religious festivals. Also the *general* order of worship; a few key liturgical phrases; some of the conceptuality behind what is done in the liturgy and why; and whatnot. --------------------------------------------- E-mail paul@paulburgess.org Website http://www.paulburgess.org ---------------------------------------------
