Old Frisian's from about five-to-seven hundred years old. Old English is
about one thousand three hundred years old.
Old Frisian's not "modern" in that sense, but it's definitely not "ancient"

in the 1400s if the Norman Conquest hadn't taken place.

Mau e ki, "He aha te mea nui?"
You ask, "What is the most important thing?"
Maku e ki, "He tangata, he tangata, he tangata."
I reply, "It is people, it is people, it is people."
