They give  me a very "flowing" impression!
A block of text (a page, say) must be quite a sight!
Especially if you color-code various items, ie.
title in one color, emphacized words in another,
citations and quotes in still another, etc.
    Or even color-code different pictographs
according to syntactic/semantic criteria!
I'll bet that the resulting mosaic would be
quite impressive!
