However, for some of us, the culture is inseparable from the language. For
myself, Dalmatian cannot exist without the supporting culture; in many
aspects the culture is developed first, and the language follows, to suit
the culture. It is exactly because of this that I decided to abandon the
translation of the Good Soldier Svejk - it just doesn't fit, however much
I love the book.
