At the moment, I have two groups to deal with. One claims that their written Spanish is acceptable anywhere in the Americas (but they make no claims about Spain); the second group claims that the writings of the first group are not acceptable in Spain. Since we are paying both groups for their respective expertise, I am loath to believe that either one is wrong. How, then, am I to label the output of the first group if "New World Spanish" does not exist? -- John Cowan jcowan@reutershealth.com www.reutershealth.com www.ccil.org/~cowan Promises become binding when there is a meeting of the minds and consideration is exchanged. So it was at King's Bench in common law England; so it was under the common law in the American colonies; so it was through more than two centuries of jurisprudence in this country; and so it is today. --_Specht v.
