The vulcans thumb, they feel humans aren't ready for space. the year is acutally 2151 which is roughly 100 years after first contact. In the second episode, the linguist says after hearing a language for about 5 seconds that the grammar sounds 'bi-modal'. is this even an acutal term. Mario
