Actually, I'm of French nationality. But I'm also interested in linguistics,
and tend to be a bit sarcastic when it comes to my motherland (why do you think
I moved to the Netherlands? :))) ). So I'm not gonna pretend that French is
different than what it really is (on the contrary, it makes this language even
more interesting! Who cares anymore about inflecting languages with suffixes
nowadays? :)))) ).
But it's true that you won't find many French people (only the really good
linguists) who will share this idea. Well, most of them are blinded by the
written language and aren't even able to realize that French is something else
than a string of letters on paper! :))) Blame it on the French educational
system...
