At least one Iranian people, the Alani, took part in the migrations of the
early Medieval Age. They must've got into contact with plenty of Germanic
peoples on the treks thru' modern Germany, France and Spain. They finally
ended up under Vandal rule in North Africa, too. Is this of any help?

PS Evidently, "Alani" and "Sarmatians" are evidently more or less the same.
PPS The Ossetes, whole live in Russia and Georgia, are suposedly descendants
of Alani who didn't migrate west.
