Caleb -
Glad you enjoyed it. :-) Inspiration was definitely what I wanted to
get at, one way or another.
All the handouts are on a new page on the website, and I recommend you
have them in hand (or open concurrently) when watching the talks, as
they'll be much clearer.
As for NLF2DWS not being natlangy - well, it's sorta agnostic on that
point. It's very difficult to say whether it is a "natlang" when it's
a different paradigm that makes most of the usual criteria
inapplicable (i.e. phonology, some of morphology, most syntax).
If you can give any suggestions for how to evaluate the natlanginess
of a language that isn't based on those categories of criteria, by all
means please do.
(Part of my intention, I should point out, is that a NLF2DWS is a sort
of metalanguage, possibly a viable interlingua - I strongly suspect,
but am not sure I can prove, that you can make a voicing / parsing /
traversal algorithm to convert from a well-designed
NLF2DWS to almost any normal language - except for the intrinsic issue
of frames & words being rather culture-សspecific.)
Will respond to your offlist email when I have more time. Yay for
finals and such.
Spark: It'll last if you feed it and turn it into a fire. :-)
