The official archives were lost when the list moved from DIKU to
Brown --- by the time David had the room to host them, they'd been
deleted from the FTP server where I put them. And DIKU's backup system
was broken at the time, so it was not possible to retrieve a copy.
The older damaged archives are probably the ones I got off John Cowan
--- they'd suffered bit damage while compressed, which is why they
become increasingly garbled.
So, anyway --- your archives are probably valuable. Taliesin is
hosting a searchable threaded message archive --- whose URL escapes me
right now --- and seems to be the one who knows most about what's
available elsewhere.
