'unscathed'? doesn't _scathed_ imply great damage? and given that Islamic
Spain was more tolerant of free-thinkers and plurality of religions...I'd
say that Islamic Spain was the one that escaped unscathed...up until the
Inquisition's predecessors arrived to "liberate" the place.
