hmm... sqrt 3?
1^2=1
2^2=4
1.5^2=2.25
1.75^2=3.0625
1.625^2=2.640625
1.5625^2=2.44140625
... ad infinitum
i'm sure there's an easier way to do it, but i don't know it (because
this way's easy enough for me)...
of course you could just memorize that sqrt(2)=1.414213562373, but that
takes a really good memory (especially if you also memorize
pi=3.1415926535897932384626433832795 (hey! i just figured out why 6853792
popped into my head a long time ago and won't go away... i can't believe
i never noticed that before!), e=2.718281828459, and sqrt(3)=1.732050808)
