Conventional computer monitors display jittery images. Liquid crystal displays are much better in this respect, and they are perfect for reading text as long as there is not much ambient sunlight. I used Adobe ebook reader and I hate it. It is buggy and there is no way to move the ebooks to another computer. I spent about 10 hours a day for 15 years in front of conventional computer monitors. I never felt discomfort because of the jittery images. TV images are more jittery.
