months of the year: from left to right, january is at the bottom left,
june and july are at the top in the middle, and decembert is at the
bottom right.
hours of the day: top to bottom from about an hour before sunrise until
about 10:30 am and then from bottom to top.

i agree with this completely.

of course.  one thing that i have noticed is that if i take a deck of
cards, shuffle them, flip through them quickly while looking at them, and
then cut the deck, a number pops into my head.  it is always either 9 or
5.  if it is 9, the card where i cut the deck is black.  if it is 5, the
card is red.  it works about 95% of the time and i can't figure out why.

i've noticed that, but i don't remember any specific examples.
