In my new Cassell's German-English Dictionary (which I received for
Christmas!!) the following is given: Einem geschenkten Gaul SIEHT
man nicht ins Maul. I'm sure there are regional variations.
I enjoy the German proverbs, sayings, etc., that rhyme. I use a
German hagiography site almost daily and many times there is a
rhyming proverb connected to some saint.
