Yes and no. :). They are more like a distinctly different
"race/species" with unusual (by human standards) abilities. They don't
have as much of the "mystical" bits associated with Tokienesque Elves or
the Fey/Faerie elves. As a matter of fact, since I like the Fey also,
I've been considering adding in that there are beings that would fit the
description of the Fey/Faerie type elves (or at least, my image of them)
that are not related to the other elves at all...possibly even throwing
in some deliberate confusion between the two. :)

Only via High Fantasy & Tolkien. :)
Sadly or gladly, depending on one's perspective, my designs have been
strongly influenced by Tolkien (either directly or indirectly). :)
