No, it doesn't sound the same.
I think they should make the announcment in a few of the other
liturgical languages as well, maybe adding Greek, Russian, Arabic,
and Coptic. But...they didn't ask me.
P.S. Someone recently remarked that he didn't like to use Greek
letters along with the Latin letters. I us µ for the unvoiced
bilabial nasal. It doesn't look, to me, so strange in the font used
here. It has serifs. It looks like a "u" with a little tail in the
front.
