Sure.  I know plenty of people who do arithmetic in one language and
higher maths in another, because they changed countries in their
teens.  Then there are the people like Henry Kissinger, whose American
accent in his German is as bad, or worse, than the German accent in
his English.  (My mother was also in this position, though not as
severely.)
