Some people say there is also a TRANSFIX, like vocalzations in Semitic
langs, e.g.:
s-g-r - a Hebrew root 'to close';
sagar 'he closed' - ...A...A... is a transfix;
sagur 'closed' - ...A...U...;
soger 'closing' - ...O...E...
