This is trademark, not copyright. You may not use names like "Aragorn" or
"Frodo" or "Minas Tirith" to sell merchandise or services in that context,
but you can use them in a non-business context (just as you can mention
people drinking Coca-Cola® in fanfic, but note disclaimers in commercial
products such as "Coca-Cola is a registered trademark of" [whatever the
company's name is).
