<chuckling> I love the smily face when you write about
your beloved Hawaiian, David. ~:D Can't say I know
anything about it, but the culture -to homeland
Americaner me- I'm not too fond of. :-/ Well, to each
his own! Chaqu'un a son gout! Jyuunin tou-iro!

Two replies from me? In regard to Vyh?

Vowels of the same quality, although as I mentioned
about Finnish, a/omlaut (which I write as a:) and a
are considered two separate vowels with two separate
sounds, /&/ opposed to /a/. I like long-drawn vowels
of the same quality like Dutch aa, but even better
would be 2 vowels of the same vowel accompanied by
another vowel with a similar quality (like Finn,
a:a:anisinen ~:D -- I think I spelt that right).
In Vyh, I'm creating a "vowel harmony" system -- and
I've noticed that, due to the creator's own dis/likes,
there tend to exist doubles of the same vowel that
rival each other. For instance, the Vya:a:hns like
/&/ sound (and love /&:/) but disliked its
counter-part -- rival, if you will -- /a/ (and detest
the sound /a:/). Or, the vowel _yy_ /Y:/ has a rival
vowel _uu_ /u:/, so you often see positive-meaning
words with such vowels like _a:_ or _yy_ or _L_ and
negative-meaning words with their rival vowels like
_a_ or _uu_ or _i_.

Not quite, as you've got /a/ with /i:/. By the way,
would that glottal stop be the reason why Hawaii is
sometimes spelt as Hawai'i ?
Hyyva:voaazenoxdjoo!
