For the purpose of this discussion, the philosophical underpinnings
are irrelevant. Sure, everything comes down to self-interest of
various degrees of enlightenment. Or better yet, the self is in
illusion, along with free will, so philosophy is irrelevant in toto.
Whatever the reason, some behaviors and attitudes are more self*ish*
than others. And that distinction matters, to me, under the
presumption of pretty much any non-solipsistic view of reality.
But I don't want to get into a crossish discussion. I simply ask you
not to assume that people who agree with you about the nonexistence of
God also agree with the rest of your philosophy, no matter how
obviously your whole belief system may seem to you to follow from that
one premise.
