Me too! Sergei Starostin is one the few Russian linguistcs (together with
Ksenia Kepping), who actually seem to be sane most of the time (barring
Ksenia's understandable deeper Tangut theories, which are wild.), and
I've on several occasions talked with him. Even if what he says isn't
quite right, it's useful to take note of it. His Sino-Tibetan work is
quite good, really.
