Why _English_ use? Why not call it Welsh use,
or Irish use, or Hindi or Urdu use? 'Tis by no means
confined to English - or indeed just to the above
languages.
I just get a bit sensitive about Anglocentricity :)

There's also the difference Spanish & Portuguese
make between there two verbs "to be": _ser_ and
_estar_
