That's a possibility. I also downloaded Roget's original thesaurus from Project
Gutenberg with its categories and sub-categories.

The thing that concerns me about using a categorical index is that the category
names are one more thing that would have to be translated into a number of
different natlangs. I really was hoping to figure out a way that beyond the
first introductory page, everything could be written in the conglang itself
without recourse to any natlang.
