True, but back in the 40's (50's?), Nipponware (granted, not
nippoware) was a common term for Japanese produced chotchkies. Still,
AFAICT, it was pronounced [nI"pOnwer], with the accent on the second
syllable, whereas "nippo-" suggests an accent on the first.
