That's got nothing on Syrian Time!
Jews in the NYC area have been known to send out two different types of
invitations to weddings, bar/bat mitzvas, etc:
one to non-Syrians, with the time marked a little bit early. (so if it's
supposed to start around 10, the invitations would say 9:30)
and one to Syrians, with the time marked about two to three HOURS early
(if it starts at 10, the invitations would say 7 or 8), so that everyone
will get there around the same time :)
