Saweli does have a word for 'bark' : te'obyetep. It's derived directly from
the word for 'dog' - "betes". "te'o" is the classifier for activities where
the action of the body is the important thing (a distinction not made in
Latejami).
Latejami (the primary source for Saweli) has the same words, but 'bark' is
derived from 'dog' differently.
zoficala [AP-s] - bark. [Etym: DOG + activity]
zovi [P-s] - dog. "Zovi" includes all breeds of Canis familiaris. [Etym:
"-zov" is the classifier for 'carnivore']
I'm not completely satisfied that 'barking' is adequately rendered by 'dog +
activity', but it's good enough for now. And similar words for other animals
could be created the same way. None of them really express the actual sounds
the animals make, though.
