Another way to do it might be to use the word for dog and sound. This
is how i woudl approach it, but your lang is probably different. I
currently dont have afully constructed language, but here is a sample
(no phonetics, but dont worry about them they are not the point).
ofon - dog
kikit - to sound/to make sound
ofokikin - dog sound "woof"
the basics of my language are sketchy, but i think you get the idea.
