Ah, thanks for the warning! I've just set up this mailer (mozilla), and
I only use it for list-mail, so I hadn't noticed.

Yes, Andreas responded with the following, which I don't think got to
the list on account of my misset Reply-To header:

They are, but I'm a little tired of them from German; though with
the addition of vowel harmony you get a nice visal effect, like
_üstündür_ :) Of course there's always the Hungarian option: use not
only _ö_ and _ü_, but also _ő_ and _ű_! My lang has no phonemic
vowel length, so I'd have to abuse the glyphs similarly to how I'll
have to abuse the ogonek characters. But, being guilty of crimes again
orthography, I have no fear of commiting more :)

I'm sure it's just the font I'm using. In the console (where I'm not sure
what the font is), the ogonek and the undercomma are differently
proportioned in some way, or for some reason look incogruous beside one
another. In mozilla (where I'm using... huh? ok, my mozilla setting have
reverted to a non-unicode font for unicode display, which means it plucking
the glyphs out of whatever font it finds them in)... well, it doesn't
matter: I'm not going to use the undercommas, and I'll keep an eye on the
unicode font thread you've started to see what should be used.

John, if it's true that mozilla searches through all available fonts
to find a character that isn't in the font specified for the encoding
in preferences, is there a way of choosing the search order? I suppose
it might be just an easy to implement hack that isn't intended to be
customisable. I'd like to use Gentium, but have a nice second backup
for Cyrillic (alas, not just any Cyrillic font will do, since there's
a large number of ugly Cyrillic fonts around, and I do need to display
pages in Cyrillic quite often).

Aw, they're the best part! :)

I still get some. I must go off and look through my fonts for a moderately
complete and ok looking one.
