Same thing goes with my name, supposed to be the commonest of all first names. But it not easy to find someone of my generation or younger with the name "Jan" (Christophe's Jan is another example, of course). I my school with 800 pupils, I was the only one. Among the older generation Jan is much more common. At work, before I moved to another building, I always smoked my cigarettes in the compony of to older men, both named Jan.
