c-c ionian
d-d dorian
e-e phrygian
f-f lydian
g-g mixolydian
a-a aeolian
(b-b lochrian)
( thanks to 1929 edition of groves ! lochrian is
bracketed as it's fifth degree is a tritone above its
first, and it's therefore hypothetical rather than
practical )
