What evidence is there that sound would ever have been used as
communication? Could they not have "develeped" (which is wrong--they
would have EVOLVED if it had never existed before, development requires a
pre-set pathway) telepathy without going through speech? Can anyone cite
any evidence that this could not have happened?
The ability to detect sound can be useful, but that doesn't require the
ability to vocalize.
