A lot more people have access to television than you might think - even in the remotest highlands of Nepal, people are watching 'bidiyo' - Bollywood video's. All in Hindi of course, while these people are often bilingual Nepali - Limbu or so. I don't know whether the same happens in, say, Africa, but I wouldn't be surprised.
